Winky was a two year old classic tabby male rescued from a barn in Galt, California in May of 2003. We adopted him, with his brother Clodomiro, in June. Unfortunately, fate was not with Winky. He developed a terrible disease called FIP, and died just after reaching his second year of age.

The Pain of Losing a Boy!

Putting Winky down was the hardest thing I have ever done. I find that remembering my pets like this, is the easiest way to get over the pain. Winky was an indoor cat, yet still developed FIP. It's one of the nastiest diseases that can strike cats. The first sign we noticed was lethargy. In the space of just one month, Winky wasted away, losing half of his weight and losing control of his hind legs and one of his front legs.
